Creating Stand-Alone Inspections

INFO

Note: Inspections can only be viewed and created by users who have been granted relevant permissions.

Step 1 - Open The Create Inspection Popup

Head to the Service Page via links available on the Left Navigation Bar. Click on the Create button visible on the top right corner of the page and then click on one of the inspection creation buttons visible in the resultant drop-down. Both lead to the same creation popup, with the relevant type pre-selected.

New Inspection Popup

An inspection can either be created as an independent inspection, or as a dispatch/off-rent pair.

Step 2 - Select Assets For Inspection

The New Inspection Popup features an asset selection interface where multiple assets can be selected.

When creating an independent inspection, an asset that already has an open independent inspection cannot be added — it is shown as blocked with the note "An inspection is already open on this asset", and its tooltip explains "An independent inspection is still open on this asset. Complete it first." This prevents creating a duplicate standalone inspection on the same asset. If such an asset is still selected when you try to continue, you are stopped with "One or more selected assets have an open inspection. Remove them to continue."

INFO

The Purchase Inspection has been retired and replaced by the New Asset Detail Checklist, which is not created from this popup — see that page for how it's created.

Step 3 - Select Customer, Due Date, and Add Notes (Optional)

Once asset selection is finalized, click on the Next button to head to the customer selection and notes tab.

INFO

If your organization has Allow Customer Assignment On Work disabled, the customer selector is hidden and this tab is simply titled Notes — inspections are then created against the asset only.

Once customer selection is finalized, a due and notes added, click on the Create button to complete the Inspection Creation Flow and generate the new inspections.

In case a due date is not set, user will be prompted with a warning, confirming if they want to create the inspections without a due date.

User can either choose to go back and set a due date, or confirm the prompt to create inspections without the due date.

A teal colored notification towards the bottom right of the screen informs the user when inspections are created successfully. Clicking on this notification opens up the newly created inspections
