Replacing/Removing Assets on Orders
Replacing or Removing Failed Inspection Assets on Rental Reservations (Dispatch Inspection)
Every once in a while, some asset's inspection will fail. An inspection fails when one or more form items within the inspection have been marked as failed/damaged etc. For dispatch inspections, this means that the asset can no longer be dispatched to the customer until it has gone through a repair/maintenance cycle. This in turn also means that the reservation can no longer be promoted to an open contract until our failed inspection asset exists on the reservation.

A failed asset is highlighted via a red failed inspection icon on the Reservations Table and the Dispatches Popup. A failed dispatch inspection also shows a few buttons against it's status on the popup, that can be used to resolve the issue. The buttons are as follows:
Remove Asset: This button will remove the failed inspection asset from the reservation so that the reservation can be promoted to an open contract. (This button is only visible if the reservation has more than one asset.)
Replace Asset: This button allows user to replace the faulty asset instead of just removing it.
Clicking the Replace Asset
button will open a popup that allows the user to select another asset in place of the faulty asset. By default, assets from the same category will be shown. Other filters will only show suggestions within selected category.

Once a new asset is selected and saved, the faulty asset will be removed from the reservation and replaced with the newly selected asset. The newly selected asset will have to go through the same inspection process, before the reservation can be promoted to an open contract.
Replacing Overlapped Assets on Reservations
Sometimes, assets attached on a reservation cannot be dispatched, because they are already dispatched to a customer, i.e they already exist on an open contract. In case of such an overlap with an open contract, the overlapping assets need to be replaced before the reservation can be converted to an open contract. To replace an overlapping asset on a reservation, open up the Dispatches Popup for a reservation. Click the Replace Asset
button to replace the asset, or the Remove Asset
button to remove the asset from the reservation. Once all such assets have been resolved, the reservation can then be promoted to an open contract.
Replacing Assets on Open Rental Contracts
Every once in a while, an asset will cease to function properly on a customer's site. This calls for an immediate replacement of the asset. To replace an asset on an open contract, open up the Dispatches Popup for an open contract, and click on the Replace Button
against an asset, to open up the asset replacement popup.

The asset replacement popup allows user to select a new asset in place of the asset being replaced. Once a new asset is selected and saved, the asset being replaced will be marked as Replaced
and greyed out on the Dispatches Popup. The newly selected asset will have to go through the same inspection process, before it can be dispatched to the customer site.
If dispatch inspection fails again, the asset will need to be replaced again with a replacement asset.
Once dispatch inspection is successfully completed, user will need to manually update asset's status from Dispatch Inspection
to Dispatched
.
