Inspecting Assets
During rental process, assets need to be inspected on various occasions (pre-dispatch, during use and post-dispatch) to ensure they are good for use/re-use. Similarly, assets being sold need to be inspected before they are approved for sale. The following manual guides you through the inspection process for the various types of required inspections.
Inspecting Assets on Rental Reservations (Dispatch Inspection)
When assets are reserved for dispatch to a customer, they need to go through an inspection process to ensure they are ready for dispatch and use. To inspect an asset on a Reservation, head to the Transaction Page via the Left Navigation Menu and click on the Reservations Tab.
Clicking on a reservation within the Reservations Table opens up the Dispatches Popup, which displays a table of all assets attached to the reservation.

Each asset row displays the current status of the asset, and features a checklist icon. For inspections that are complete, this icon turns green (as seen on the last asset in the screenshot above).
Clicking on the status of an asset (that is still pending inspection), opens up the Inspection Popup.

The Inspection Popup features two tabs, the Details Tab and the Checklist Tab. The Details Tab displays some basic information relevant to the inspection and allows editing the inspection's status, due_date and assignee. When updating one of these fields for an inspection that has sibling inspections against the same order, the user will be prompted with a confirmation dialog, with additional actions they can take, such as applying changes to all sibling inspections and/or updating the inspection's status. The user can opt for any of these additional actions and confirm. Changes on this tab are auto-saved.

The Checklist Tab displays form items within the inspection. Items within an inspection can be of five different types:
Text: A simple text input needs to be provided for this item type
Dropdown: This item type provide a dropdown menu with different options to select from
Checkbox: A simple checkbox for boolean (true/false) input
Checkbox & Gauge: A simple checkbox input and an additional gauge value
Pass/Fail: Very similar to the third item type (checkbox), this item type allows a binary selection for pass/fail.
Damage & Photo: This item type accepts uploaded images, as well as a descriptive note and a damage status for the part/component uploaded in the image.
Gauge and Photo: This item type accepts uploaded images, and a gauge value.
Inspections are initially created in the Pending status. Inspection form items cannot be edited until the inspection's status has been updated to Ready For Inspection.
Inspections can only be marked Done when all required information within an inspection has been provided. Any info required for an inspection to be marked Done, will be highlighted in red until it is provided.
To save partial data on an inspection at any point in time, simply press the blue colored save button to save the inspection draft. Once all required information has been provided and inspection saved, several new button will appear in the bottom action bar of the inspection popup depending on whether the inspection's status.
If Inspection can be passed, a green colored
Pass Inspectionbutton will become visible. Clicking this button will save the inspection marking it asDoneandPassed.
If inspection cannot be passed, two buttons will become visible
Mark Done (Non-Critical Issues)button in yellow. Clicking this button will save and mark the inspection asDone, but will not render the asset out of service, and still allow renting out the asset.Fail Inspection (Critical Issues)button in red. Clicking this button will save and mark the inspection asDoneandFailed, and will render the asset out of service, thus disallowing renting out the asset.

A completed inspection can no longer be modified.
Occasionally, users might encounter bad internet, which might make uploading images difficult. To tackle with this problem, the application allows users to mark the inspection as done using one of the three buttons above, even if images are still uploading against some item. This feature is know as Lazy Upload.
Once the inspection has been saved and marked Done, the inspection icon against the dispatch status on the dispatch popup will turn green (or orange if the inspection was marked non-critical and red if the inspection was failed) indicating that the inspection is complete and has passed. If inspection has failed, the asset will need to be replaced or removed.

Inspecting Assets on Rental Contracts (Off Rent Inspection)
When assets are off-rented on a customer site, they are first brought in for an inspection to ensure they are returned in good condition and are ready for re-use. To inspect an asset after off-rent, head to the Transaction Page via the Left Navigation Menu and click on the Open Contracts (or Closed Contracts) Tab.
Clicking on a contract within the contracts table opens up the Dispatches Popup, which displays a table of all assets attached to the contract.

Clicking on the status of an asset (that is still pending inspection), opens up the Inspection Popup.

Although Off Rent Inspection resembles Dispatch Inspection in all aspects, one noticeable difference is the additional visibility of form item values from the dispatch's recent Dispatch Inspection. This helps give the user a good comparison of the asset's status before and after the rental. This additional visibility of dispatch inspection values is only available for users with relevant permissions. Once the inspection has been filled in, saved and marked completed, the inspection icon against the dispatch status on the dispatch popup will turn green. indicating that the inspection is complete.

Bulk Pass Inspections On Orders
Assets can also be bulk inspected and passed for an order. To do so, head to the Transactions Page - Reservations Tab and right-click on an order's row (the order should still have pending inspections) to open up the action menu.

Click on the Pass all inspections option. The user will be prompted with a confirmation dialog, where user can choose to proceed or abort the action.
Inspecting Assets on for Sale Approval (Sale Inspection)
When a sales quote is approved, assets on the sales quote are first brought in for an inspection to ensure they are in good condition for sale. To inspect an asset for sale, head to the Service Page via the Left Navigation Menu and click on the Tasks Tab.

Clicking on the required sales inspection within the tasks table opens up the Inspection Popup
Once the inspection has been filled in, saved and marked completed, and asset sale checklists finalized, the sales quote will automatically be promoted to open sales order.
