Creating/Editing a Form Item
To create a new form template, head to the Categories/Templates Page - via links available on the Left Navigation Bar, and navigate to the Form Template Items Tab.

Click on the + Create Item button to open the Form Item Popup.

Each form item has an Item Type that controls how it is answered. The available types are:
| Item Type | How it is answered |
|---|---|
| Text | A free-text field. |
| Number | A numeric entry. |
| Dropdown | A single choice from a list of Options you define. |
| Check and Gauge | A toggle plus a numeric reading. |
| Pass / Fail | A two-button Pass / Fail toggle. |
| Yes / No | A two-button Yes / No toggle. |
| Yes / No and Gauge | A Yes / No toggle plus a numeric reading. |
| Damage and Photo | A damage note with a photo (Inspection templates only). |
| Gauge and Photo | A numeric reading with a photo (Inspection templates only). |
Every type except the two photo types can be used on Asset Details, Inspection and New Asset Detail Checklist templates alike. Each option in the Item Type dropdown shows, in brackets, the template kinds it can be used on, and the list narrows to the types allowed for the kind of template the item is being created for. The old Checkbox type has been retired: any boolean question is now a two-button Yes / No (or Pass / Fail) toggle instead of a tick box.
